Enhancing AiDA's Dashboard for Better User Engagement and Business Growth
Introduction to the Project
At Bookmark.com, we offer a website builder powered by an artificial intelligence design assistant named AiDA. Users simply answer a few questions about their business goals, type, and desired website features, and AiDA lays the foundation for a smart website tailored to their needs. What's more, AiDA continuously improves website performance by making personalized suggestions to enhance visitor satisfaction and convert more customers.
Challenges We Faced
Despite AiDA's capabilities, we noticed a critical issue: users often believed their work was done once their site was published. Many didn't understand the importance of monitoring metrics or how to make ongoing improvements to attract high-value customers. Additionally, we needed an effective way to present each website's performance score and enable users to easily preview and accept AiDA's suggestions.

The Solution I Developed
To address these challenges, I led a redesign of the dashboard with key features focused on user engagement and education:
Speedometer-Style Site Score: I introduced a visual, intuitive speedometer to display the website's performance score prominently. This design allowed users to quickly grasp how their site was performing at a glance.
Clear Labels and Explanations: Added descriptive labels to explain what the performance score means, helping users understand the importance of metrics without technical jargon.
Integration of AiDA Suggestions: Embedded AiDA's personalized improvement suggestions directly into the dashboard, giving users the ability to preview changes and easily approve or dismiss them.
Research and Insights
Before implementing these solutions, I conducted thorough research on competitor products like Wix ADI and Jimdo. I analyzed how their dashboards functioned and whether they effectively motivated users to invest time in site improvements. This research provided valuable insights that informed our design choices, ensuring we offered a superior user experience.
Results That Benefited Bookmark.com and Its Users
The redesigned dashboard led to significant positive outcomes:
Increased User Engagement: Users became more proactive in monitoring their website performance and implementing improvements, leading to higher acceptance rates of AiDA's suggestions.
Improved Understanding of Metrics: The intuitive site score and clear explanations demystified analytics for non-technical users, empowering them to make informed decisions.
Enhanced Website Performance: As users adopted AiDA's suggestions, their websites saw improved visitor satisfaction and higher conversion rates.

Impact on Business Growth
By simplifying the process of website optimization, we attracted new customers who might have been intimidated by technical complexities. This led to increased platform adoption and directly contributed to revenue growth. Enhanced user satisfaction also resulted in more positive reviews and referrals, further expanding our customer base.
Takeaways That Made Me a Better Designer
This project reinforced several key lessons:
Empathy in Design: The importance of creating solutions that are accessible to users without technical knowledge.
Visual Communication: Leveraging intuitive visuals like the speedometer-style score to convey complex information simply and effectively.
Continuous Learning: The value of competitive research to stay ahead and continually improve our product offerings.
By focusing on user-centric design and continuous improvement, I was able to create a more engaging and effective user experience. This not only benefited our users but also drove significant business growth, solidifying my approach to designing impactful, growth-driven solutions.
